So what is the purpose of the Genesis Museum of Creation? Believe it or not, it is not just to convince people of Creation! The true reason is to show the reality of our Lord Jesus Christ! The reason we promote Creation, is because the controversy between Creation/evolution can often prevent people accepting a loving Creator God. Also, the Gospel doesn’t make sense without Creation. So what is the Gospel message? Let’s find out!
“In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth.” -Genesis 1:1, “For in six days the Lord made the Heavens and the Earth, the sea, and all that is in them.” -Exodus 20:11.
This is the first part of the message. God, creating the world, and mankind, for his Glory. God loved man so much, that he made a garden for him. He placed man in the garden, and made woman from man. God then gave them one commandment, not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Man, tempted by a fallen angel, Satan, disobeyed and ate. The result of this is was that sin entered the world. This begs the question, what is sin? Sin means “to miss the mark”. God, being a perfect being, has a very high standard. Anything less, or against that, is sin. Romans says, “The wages of sin is death”. This is a problem for mankind.
So what acts are sin? Exodus, chapter 20 gives us a good summary. Some of these are: Do not lie, do not steal, do not murder and do not commit adultery. Let’s look further.
Do not lie A single lie is enough to separate one from God. Everybody has told a lie at some point.
Do not steal Any theft, whatever the size, is big in God’s eyes.
Do not murder Many people haven’t murdered, so they may think that this doesn’t apply to them. However, Jesus said that if you are angry at someone, you have murdered them in your heart.
Do not commit adultery Plenty of people have done this. But Jesus said that if you look at someone with lust, you have committed adultery in your heart.
The Bible says,” All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.” -Romans 3:23. This is a big problem for us as sinners. What are we to do?
God has the solution. He loved the world so much that He, a perfect person, who knows no sin, came down to earth, and took the punishment for our sin. He paid the price, so we could spend eternity with Him. All we need to do is trust He has indeed saved us, and ask him for forgiveness.
